Lip Augmentation
When you consider a lip augmentation you must fully understand the aesthetics of the lip. There are two things to consider: size and border, as well as the balance between them.
| In an aesthetically ideal lip the bottom lip should be slightly bigger than the upper lip |
- Collagen (too short a half life and is not used in our practice)
- Fat
- Alloderm
- Restylane( our most popular filler)
- Hylaform
- Radiance (should only be placed a highly experienced surgeon as can be treacherous and is recommended in rare circumstances)
NOTE: SILICONE SHOULD NEVER BE USED
All of these fillers will provide bulk to the red part of the lip giving you more exposed red surface and therefore bigger lips.
| There should be a pronounced border to the lip so as to appear as an outline. |
Filler that can be placed superficially into the dermis must be used (refer to theory section for acceptable fillers for different levels in the skin)
NOTE: SILICONE SHOULD NEVER BE USED
