Lip Augmentation

When you consider a lip augmentation you must fully understand the aesthetics of the lip. There are two things to consider: size and border, as well as the balance between them.

In an aesthetically ideal lip the bottom lip should be slightly bigger than the upper lip
  • Collagen (too short a half life and is not used in our practice)
  • Fat
  • Alloderm
  • Restylane( our most popular filler)
  • Hylaform
  • Radiance (should only be placed a highly experienced surgeon as can be treacherous and is recommended in rare circumstances)

NOTE: SILICONE SHOULD NEVER BE USED

All of these fillers will provide bulk to the red part of the lip giving you more exposed red surface and therefore bigger lips.

There should be a pronounced border to the lip so as to appear as an outline.

Filler that can be placed superficially into the dermis must be used (refer to theory section for acceptable fillers for different levels in the skin)

NOTE: SILICONE SHOULD NEVER BE USED
